Former Crimson Tide, NFL Lineman Arrested In Prostitution Bust

A former University of Alabama and NFL defensive lineman was among several people arrested in a sting by Tuscaloosa Police on Tuesday.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — A former All-SEC defensive lineman at Alabama who also played professional football in the NFL was among several suspects arrested in a prostitution sting by the West Alabama Human Trafficking Task Force.

Kindal Moorehead, 42, was charged with soliciting prostitution and saw his bond set at $1,000.

A native of Memphis, Moorehead was a fifth round selection in the 2003 NFL Draft by the Carolina Panthers. He would play in Charlotte for four seasons before concluding his career with the Atlanta Falcons.

After his playing career ended, he would make a run at coaching, evening joining Nick Saban's Crimson Tide coaching staff in 2010 as an assistant strength and conditioning coach. As recently as 2020, he had moved into the same role at the University of Tennessee.

Investigators with the West Alabama Human Trafficking Task Force said Moorehead was one of six people arrested on 11 charges during a sting operation conducted at a Tuscaloosa hotel Tuesday night.

The investigation targeted the demand side of prostitution, the Task Force said.

Others arrested

  • Tradarion Jacquez Watkins, 24, of Tuscaloosa, charged with soliciting prostitution. Bond set at $1,000.
  • KeEric Keshawn Willis, 25, or Tuscaloosa, charged with soliciting prostitution and second-degree possession of marijuana. Bond set at $2,000.
  • Amar Sharif Walden, 25, of Tuscaloosa, charged with soliciting prostitution. $1,000 bond.
  • Joaquin Olvera Hernandez, 39, of Birmingham, charged with soliciting prostitution. Bond set at $1,000 bond.
  • Tyler Deandre Atkins, 29, of Tuscaloosa, charged with soliciting prostitution, first-degree possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance, failure to affix a tax stamp and certain persons forbidden from possessing a firearm. Bond set at $28,500.
