Georgia Men Charged In Tuscaloosa For Promoting Prostitution
Two men from Cairo, Georgia were arrested during an undercover vice operation on McFarland Boulevard in Tuscaloosa on Friday
Two Georgia men are facing felony charges after an undercover vice operation was carried out by multiple local agencies on McFarland Boulevard Friday. The West Alabama Human Trafficking Task Force charged Isiah Rashaud Williams, 25, and Demetrius Lamonallen Wright, 26, for felony promoting prostitution and drug possession.
According to a Saturday press release from the Tuscaloosa Police Department, the operation also resulted in several women being rescued. TPD says the goal of the operation, which occurred in the 3600 block of E. McFarland Blvd., was to identify potential victims of human trafficking.
The women have since been transported to a safe location where victim’s services are being provided. However, the department acknowledged that the I-20/59 corridor continues to be a travel route for those engaged in this “lucrative and heinous criminal enterprise.”
