City Council President Jeff Hogg confirmed to Patch today that Guthrie's will officially open its doors from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. Thursday at 3200 McFarland Boulevard, next door to the future home of a combination of Great American Cookie Co. and Marble Slab Creamery concept.

"We are so glad to see this finally come to fruition," Hogg said Tuesday. "It’s just another domino that sets the standard for the area moving forward. I get asked daily about this development area and it’s always good to see the items we’ve all been waiting on open."

The new restaurant represents the company's second at present in the Tuscaloosa metro, with the other on 15th Street in Tuscaloosa. The opening marks a return to Northport for the company, which previously had a restaurant in the location now occupied by Chongwah Express.
