Heir Apparent? Tide Freshman WR Grabs High Praise From ESPN
Florida native Agiye Hall, a freshman wide receiver for the Crimson Tide, is expected to be a major contributor on offense in 2021

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Few shoes will be a big to fill as those of a Heisman Trophy winner, but many college football analysts are heaping praise on one Crimson Tide freshman who could be the next superstar receiver at The Capstone.
When asked about the "true freshman you're most excited to see?," ESPN college football writer Alex Scarborough pointed to highly-touted wide receiver Agiye Hall, who turned heads during his first spring in Tuscaloosa.
"Alabama's spring game was a wake-up call for anyone sleeping on Agiye Hall, ESPN's No. 3-rated receiver in the Class of 2021," Scarborough said. "The Florida native came out against the first-team defense and caught everything within a one-block radius of his No. 17 jersey. It didn't matter if it was a contested catch -- he'd leap and contort his body and get his hands on the football. At 6-3 with excellent speed, Hall looked like the heir apparent to departed star receivers DeVonta Smith, Jaylen Waddle and Jerry Jeudy, and the perfect downfield threat to compliment returning star John Metchie."

As a senior at Bloomingdale High School in Valrico, Florida, Hall grabbed 55 passes for 1,050 yards and 13 touchdowns. Over his four years in high school, he amassed nearly 3,000 career receiving yards and 33 scores.
Hall would go on to become a consensus four-star recruit ranked by 247Sports as the No. 56 overall player nationally, eventually settling on Alabama over Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Miami and Oregon.

In his A-Day Game debut, Hall did not disappoint as he battled tight coverage to snag four catches for 72 yards, one of which was for 37 yards.
Following his stellar spring game performance, head coach Nick Saban said the young player had been improving every day, despite not being 100% sure of what he was doing at times during the spring.
"So to get him to play fast all the time is something that he wants to do and naturally does, but like any player most of the time when they are not sure of what they are doing, they aren't playing fast," Saban said. "He has made significant improvement throughout the spring, and he is someone that we think has a lot of potential. He makes a lot of contested catches. He's got great size. He's got really some explosive speed that I think we need. We need some guys to compliment John Metchie when he gets back. We are pleased with his progress. He had a really good spring."
Hall and the Crimson Tide will open the 2021 season in Atlanta against the Miami Hurricanes on Sept. 4. Kick is set for 2:30 p.m.
