Ice Skating Rink Opens Tuesday Night In Downtown Tuscaloosa

The holiday season is here and the City of Tuscaloosa plans to open its new downtown ice rink location in Government Plaza Tuesday night.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The holiday season is here and the City of Tuscaloosa plans to officially open the new location for its downtown ice skating rink in Government Plaza.

While the Tinsel Trail debuted Monday night and will be stationary through the rest of the year, the ice rink will open at 5 p.m. Tuesday. The entrance for Government Plaza can be found on 7th Street and attendees are encouraged to park in the city's intermodel parking deck adjacent to the park.

Previously "Holidays on the River, the move from the Tuscaloosa Amphitheater to downtown has been rebranded "Holidays on the Plaza."

The city says the rink will be open through Jan. 17, 2022.

Admission to "Holidays on the Plaza" will be free, but guests must purchase skate passes to access the ice rink.

Birthday and corporate party rental packages for the holiday season are also currently available.
