Industry Group Names Alabama ONE 2023 Credit Union Of The Year
The League of Southeastern Credit Unions (LSCU) has named Alabama ONE its Credit Union of the Year.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The League of Southeastern Credit Unions (LSCU) has named Alabama ONE its Credit Union of the Year among institutions with more than $500 million in assets.

The industry group awards Credit Union of the Year Awards for Alabama, Florida, and Georgia and previously presented Alabama ONE the Credit Union of the Year Award in 2018.

Alabama ONE says the League of Southeastern Credit Unions & Affiliates represents 301 credit unions throughout Alabama, Florida, and Georgia, which have a combined total of more than $177 billion in assets and more than 11.8 million members.
Alabama ONE was first chartered in 1951 as the TRW Federal Credit Union and eventually rebranded as the BF Goodrich Employees Federal Credit Union in 1973.

BF Goodrich Employees Federal Credit Union was granted the status of a Community Credit Union in 2001, opening up membership to those in Tuscaloosa and Pickens counties.
The financial institution then became Alabama ONE Credit Union in 2009 and today is a $1 billion-dollar, full-service financial institution with 18 branches that serve more than 79,000 residents of Tuscaloosa, Pickens, Mobile, Jefferson and 18 other counties, including Fayette, Walker, Bibb, Hale, Greene, Lamar, Washington, Baldwin, Monroe, Escambia, Choctaw, Clarke, Wilcox, Marengo, Sumter, Morgan, Montgomery and Shelby.
