Infant Killed Sunday Morning In Greene County Crash

A one-month-old infant was killed in a single-vehicle crash early Sunday morning on U.S. Highway 11, roughly six miles south of Boligee.

BOLIGEE, AL — The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency says a one-month-old infant was killed in a single-vehicle crash early Sunday morning on U.S. Highway 11, roughly six miles south of Boligee in Greene County.

ALEA Public Information Officer Justin O'Neal told local media that the crash occurred at approximately 4:30 a.m. when a 2013 Chevrolet Cruze driven by a 19-year-old Boligee woman left the roadway. The vehicle then struck a guard rail and a tree.

O'Neal said the infant was not properly restrained and was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
