Investigators Identify Man Shot And Killed Saturday In Tuscaloosa's West End

The Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit has identified a man killed in a Saturday shooting on 21st Street and is asking for help in the case.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit has identified a man killed in a Saturday shooting that also injured two others on 21st Street and is asking for the public's help in tracking down leads.

Captain Jack Kennedy, commander of the multi-agency unit, told local media Monday morning that Charlie Lee Thomas, 29, was pronounced dead at the scene in the 3500 block of 21st Street in Tuscaloosa's West End. The Tuscaloosa Police Department responded to the initial call of the shooting at approximately 10 p.m.

Once on scene, officers found Lee and a second victim, who was transported to DCH Regional Medical Center for injuries not believed to be life-threatening. A third person was also injured, but treated and released shortly thereafter.

Kennedy said the investigation is ongoing, stopping short of naming potential suspects or persons of interest.
