June Gala To Benefit Officer Kennis Croom Memorial Scholarship
The benefit gala will be held June 10 at Hotel Capstone, with all proceeds going to the scholarship fund in honor of the fallen officer.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Croom Foundation will host its inaugural Officer Kennis Croom Memorial Scholarship Gala, which will see all net proceeds benefit the scholarship named for the Tuscaloosa native and former Tuscaloosa Police officer who was killed in the line of duty.

Tickets are on sale now for the event, which will be held on June 10 at Hotel Capstone. The cocktail hour starts at 6 p.m., followed by dinner at 7 p.m.

The Gala will also feature live and silent auctions.
The Croom Foundation aims to "create equitable opportunities for underexposed and/or disadvantaged youth/teens in Alabama."

The Officer Kennis Croom Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to one deserving high school senior and one deserving undergraduate college student.
As Patch reported last June, Croom was working for the Meridian Police Department in Mississippi and responded to a domestic violence call, where he was shot and killed by a man who had also killed his pregnant wife. He was 30 years old.
