The unit's commander, Captain Jack Kennedy, told local media Wednesday afternoon that investigators would not be able to release many details about the suspect, citing state law that prohibits law enforcement agencies from sharing the identities or photographs of suspects under the age of 18.

Kennedy said the suspect was developed from witnesses, video, and evidence recovered during the investigation, which led to arrest warrants being obtained on Tuesday.
While numerous people were injured and false rumors ran wild about a possible shooting at DCH Regional Medical Center, Patch previously reported that all five victims were expected to recover, including one who was in critical condition following the shooting.

Kennedy flatly refuted the rumors involving DCH and said the shooting occurred outside in a common area at the apartment complex — not inside a residence. He also said investigators found the suspect opened fire on a group of individuals during an altercation.
Investigators ultimately arrested the suspect Wednesday afternoon, charging him with five counts of attempted murder, shooting into an occupied dwelling and certain persons prohibited from possessing firearms.
Kennedy then said a judge approved a consolidated cash bond of $336,000 on all of the charges.
