Lake Tuscaloosa Cleanup Day Set For Saturday

The City of Tuscaloosa on Thursday announced will host a Lake Tuscaloosa Cleanup Day on Saturday, April 15 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The City of Tuscaloosa is set to host a Lake Tuscaloosa Cleanup Day on Saturday, April 15 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

City Hall has said it is in need of volunteers for the cleanup event, especially those with boats. City officials point out that Lake Tuscaloosa is the primary source of drinking water for Tuscaloosa residents.

The city says the first 150 volunteers to arrive will receive a free T-shirt. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.

Volunteers can sign in at the Rock Quarry Boat Landing on Lake Tuscaloosa, where the city’s Environmental Services Division will provide garbage bags and litter pick-up gear.

Those without boats will be assigned to city boats.

Lake Tuscaloosa is the primary source of drinking water for Tuscaloosa residents.
