Lebron Named Preseason All-SEC First Team; Tide Picked 12th In League Poll

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Alabama shortstop Justin Lebron was named a Preseason All-Southeastern Conference First Team selection.

Lebron earns first-team preseason honors for the second consecutive season after a standout sophomore campaign in 2025, when he started all 59 games in the middle infield for the Crimson Tide.

This marks yet more high praise for the talented shortstop, after Patch previously reported that Lebron was named a second team preseason All-American by D1Baseball.com.

Other accolades include Lebron being named First Team All-American by ABCA/Rawlings and earned Third Team All-American recognition from the National College Baseball Writers Association and Perfect Game USA.

He also received Second Team All-SEC honors and was named to the SEC All-Defensive Team in 2025.

The right-handed hitter from Miramar, Florida, batted .316 (73-for-231) with 18 doubles last season, along with one triple and 18 home runs.

Lebron finished the season with 72 RBIs, 60 runs scored, 35 walks, 10 hit-by-pitches and 17 stolen bases in 18 attempts.

Lebron’s 72 RBIs were also the most ever recorded by a shortstop and a sophomore in Alabama program history.

Along with individual honors, SEC coaches released their projected order of finish for the 2026 season, with Alabama selected to finish 12th among the league’s 16 teams.
