Tuscaloosa Mayor To Host First In Series Of Meetings With Community Groups Next Week
Tuscaloosa Mayor Walt Maddox will host the first in a series of town hall meetings next week in an effort to engage community groups.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Tuscaloosa Mayor Walt Maddox on Thursday announced he will host the first in a series of town hall meetings next week in an effort to engage with different community groups.

The first meeting next week will be on Monday with the Tuscaloosa Downtown Merchants Association, with Maddox saying his hope is to promote accountability and engagement.

The Tuscaloosa Downtown Merchants Association was resurrected in 2022 by downtown business leaders and Chamber officials after an extended hiatus.
"These meetings give me the chance to learn more about what’s important to you, to give updates on city projects, and to answer questions and hear concerns," Maddox said in his weekly "Mayor's Minute. "Our city’s standard of excellence is to be the most accountable, innovative and effectively managed city in the United States.

Monday's meeting will be held in the City Council chambers inside Tuscaloosa City Hall.
Maddox also encouraged other community groups to reach out and schedule a town hall meeting.
