Tuscaloosa Mayor Appoints Scott Holmes As Next City Attorney
Holmes previously served as associate city attorney and will take the place of Glenda Webb, who left the role to take a job in Northport.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Tuscaloosa Mayor Walt Maddox on Tuesday announced that Scott Holmes will be the next city attorney for Tuscaloosa, effective June 5. Holmes previously served as associated city attorney and will replace Glenda Webb, who was hired in March to fill the open city administrator position in Northport, as Patch previously reported.
Maddox said Holmes came on as associate city attorney in 2014 and has played a significant role in the city’s administration, acting as a legal advisor and operations section chief for Incident Command during the city's response to the coronavirus pandemic, while also designing regulations for short-term rentals, pier electrical permits, Elevate Tuscaloosa, Project Unity and the Crime Response Team.
“I am honored and excited that Scott is leading our Office of the City Attorney, and I believe he has what it takes to make us the most innovative and effectively managed city in the United States," Maddox said.
