Mother And Son Identified As Victims In Fatal 15th Street Crash

The Tuscaloosa Police Department has identified two Tuscaloosa County residents who were killed in a crash on 15th Street last week.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Tuscaloosa Police Department has identified a mother and son from Ralph who were killed in a two-vehicle crash last Thursday on 15th Street near Cloverdale Road.

The victims were identified as Bessie Lee Cameron, 67, and her son Troy Lee Cameron, 51.

As Patch previously reported, TPD officers were called to the scene at 12:30 p.m., where witnesses informed them that the driver of a Nissan Versa had been driving eastbound on 15th Street before she attempted a U-turn in front of a Dodge Charger that was traveling west

The 67-year-old woman driving the Nissan was transported to DCH Regional Health Center, along her son, who was a passenger in the compact car. Neither survived their injuries, according to a TPD press release Thursday evening.

The driver of the Dodge Charger was not injured in the crash.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
