Two Tuscaloosa County Residents Killed In 15th Street Crash Thursday

Two Tuscaloosa County residents were killed in a two-vehicle crash on 15th Street just after noon on Thursday.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Tuscaloosa Police Department says two Tuscaloosa County residents from Ralph were killed in a two-vehicle crash Thursday afternoon on 15th Street near Cloverdale Road.

TPD officers were called to the scene at 12:30 p.m., where witnesses informed them that the driver of a Nissan Versa had been driving eastbound on 15th Street before she attempted a U-turn in front of a Dodge Charger that was traveling west

The 67-year-old woman driving the Nissan was transported to DCH Regional Health Center, along with a 51-year-old man who was a passenger in the compact car. Neither survived their injuries, according to a TPD press release Thursday evening.

The driver of the Dodge Charger was not injured in the crash.

Once investigators arrived on scene, the westbound lanes of 15th Street were closed to process the scene, with it reopening by 2 p.m.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
