“Fire Station 6 is going to mean so much to so many people in this area,” Maddox said. “Fire stations serve for generations, and I have no doubt that this new facility will be equipped to do just that, and make sure that our fire department continues to operate at our standard of excellence.”

The city said the new Fire Station 6 will replace an aging station that would've been 57 years old this year.

“I’m so excited about this fire station and for these firefighters that now get to have their own home again,” Faile said.

Work on the new fire station is expected to be complete by spring 2025.

“This station will be huge not only for the department and the City, but for the community," Smith said. “It will allow us to increase our training space and serve as a resource for this community for many years to come.”
