Violent Crimes Unit Commander Captain Jack Kennedy said a 20-year-old man with non-threatening gunshot injuries, along with a teenage girl dead from gunshot wounds, were located at Fieldcrest Drive. He also said a second uninjured female was in the vehicle when investigators made contact.
Northport Police initially responded and the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit assumed the investigation. Two actives crimes scenes were established, with investigators initially viewing the chaos as being the result of multiple shootings.

At the scene off of Fieldcrest Drive, a woman behind yellow police tape could be heard screaming "But where is my baby?" as a full moon shined overhead just above the apartment complex
The injured man who survived the shooting told police that he and 16-year-old Trinity Shannon, along with the third female, had been in their vehicle in line at the Wendy’s when a vehicle pulled up alongside of theirs and began firing shots.
Shannon was struck multiple times and died as a result of her injuries. The man driving the vehicle was also injured during the shooting, before driving to Fieldcrest Drive where law enforcement was contacted.
Kennedy identified the suspect as 19-year-old Kenderius Sherman, who reportedly had a long history of past disagreements with the man injured in the shooting. Sherman allegedly targeted the man and was identified as the shooter by the victims, video, and third party witnesses.
Sherman was apprehended following the shooting and has been charged with capital murder and denied bond on that charge, while also being charged with two counts of attempted murder and saw a combined bond set at $120,000.
The death of the teenage girl represents the second inadvertent shooting death of a Tuscaloosa teenager since Friday, following the murder of 13-year-old Kei'lan Allen.
What's more, a man was also gunned down earlier Tuesday in Hay Court apartments in Tuscaloosa's West End, for the first of two murders in one day.
When including the accused manslaughter death of a six-month-old infant on Friday, the most recent homicide investigation marks four prompted since Friday for Tuscaloosa County homicide investigators.
