"Witnesses reported that a male suspect had been seen chasing, and firing a pistol multiple times, at another male suspect along the roadside," Kennedy told local media Friday evening. "Responding TPD units took the suspect into custody, and soon, the victim returned. The Violent Crimes Unit was called out to assume the investigation. It was determined that the victim and suspect were contracted employees working at a nearby business when they got into a minor physical altercation over a disagreement."
Investigators believe the victim left the business on foot after the altercation.

During this time, Dustin Jermaine Lavender, 41, is alleged to have retrieved a gun from his vehicle, before pursuing the victim and firing multiple shots at him.
Kennedy said the victim was not struck in the shooting.
Lavender was charged with attempted murder, receiving stolen property and felon in possession of a firearm. His bond was set at $90,000.
The shooting marked the second for west Tuscaloosa's in 24 hours, following a shooting in the early morning hours Friday at Creekwood Apartments that left a 20-year-old man dead and a teenager charged with capital murder.
