Northport Approves ABC License For Cutter's Cigars

A new cigar shop is set to open near the intersection of McFarland Boulevard and Highway 69 in Northport.

NORTHPORT, AL — Northport will soon welcome a new cigar shop after the City Council on Monday approved an ABC liquor license for Cutter's Cigars. The new business will be set up in the former location of Nancy & Co. Fine Jewelers, next door to Hungry Howie's Pizza.

The business is owned by Birmingham native Willie Knighton, who told Patch on Wednesday that interior renovations on the location are underway at 1848 McFarland Boulevard. Cutter's Cigars will occupy the westernmost space in the shopping center, which includes Walmart Neighborhood Market and Harbor Freight.

Knighton expressed his pride in opening the 1st Black-owned cigar shop in Northport and said he is still working through the final details before opening up to customers in the coming months.
