Northside High School is in the process of adding a new turf playing surface for its football field in Samantha. This is possible thanks to widely publicized efforts to upgrade facilities for county schools, with Tuscaloosa County High and Hillcrest both having new surfaces installed, while Brookwood High is in the process of building a new Billy Joe Young Stadium.
