Tuscaloosa Launches Survey For Lake Nicol, Lake Harris Master Plan
The City of Tuscaloosa is asking for the public's feedback regarding the lakes as it moves forward on its master plan for the lakes.

TUSCALOOSA, AL —The City of Tuscaloosa on Friday announced the launch of a new community survey on the city's Lake Nicol and Harris Lake master plan.

City officials said in a press release that the purpose of the survey is to better understand the community's current uses for the lakes, along with gathering feedback on future desires.

For instance, the survey gauges what amenities residents would like to see added, in addition to soliciting feedback on popular activities enjoyed by those who visit the lakes.

The city says it will also hold a community engagement meeting regarding the master plan on Aug. 22 from 3 p.m. - 6 p.m. at the Phelps Activity Center.
What's more, participants have the option to enter a drawing for a chance to win two concert tickets to upcoming events at the Tuscaloosa Amphitheater.
Harris Lake was first completed in 1929 and occupies 220 acres, while the 384-acre Lake Nicol was completed in 1956. Both locations are popular destinations for hiking, bird watching, canoeing and swimming.
