A Northport man was killed early Wednesday morning in a single-vehicle crash on Upper Columbus Road near Sam Sutton Road.

NORTHPORT, AL — A Northport man was killed early Wednesday morning in a single-vehicle crash on Upper Columbus Road near Sam Sutton Road.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency says the crash occurred at approximately 1:40 a.m. the 2016 Ford F-250 driven by 25-year-old David J. Lancaster left the roadway, struck a ditch and overturned.

ALEA says Lancaster was not using his seat belt at the time of crash, was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene, which was approximately two miles north of the City of Northport.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
