Jones has worked in the restaurant industry since 2001 and played a pivotal role at River, serving as the Front of the House manager and general manager. A member of the opening team in 2016, Jones is credited with shaping the style that defines River.

"Lauren's dedication, hard work, and loyalty have earned her the opportunity to become a partner," c0-owner Tim Harrison said. "Her exceptional ability to handle customer demands, her attention to detail, and her commitment to excellence make her the ideal choice. Having an owner present in the restaurant at all times will enhance our service and ensure the continued success of River."

Co-owner David Hudson also expressed confidence in the abilities of their new managing partner, who will be focused on the high standards set out years ago when the business first opened.

"Her exceptional leadership skills have earned her the respect and admiration of the entire team," Hudson said. "Lauren successfully navigated us through the challenges posed by COVID-19 and has assembled a staff comprising both experienced associates and talented newcomers."

A lifelong native of Northport, Jones holds a degree in interior design from the University of Alabama and actively contributes to the community.

She is a member of the Tuscaloosa Merchant Alliance, the Tuscaloosa chapter of the Alabama Restaurant and Hospitality Association, and the Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama.

Additionally, Jones annually attends the National Restaurant Association Food Show.

River, as Tuscaloosa's representative, was sponsored by Visit Tuscaloosa at the esteemed 2023 Alabama Tourism Bash.

"At River, our strong crew is the backbone of our success," Jones said. "We have cultivated an employee culture that values collaboration, teamwork, and mutual support. Our accomplishments are a testament to their unwavering commitment and passion."

River is open for dinner Tuesday through Saturday and offers brunch on Saturdays and Sundays.

The restaurant also offers private events on Sunday and Monday evenings and during weekday lunch hours.

"Our primary goal in opening River was to provide a superior dining experience, not solely to generate profits," Harrison said. "We firmly believed that by excelling in every aspect and delivering exceptional experiences, everything else would fall into place. And it certainly has."
Hudson added, "We are strong supporters of the entire Tuscaloosa restaurant community. On occasions when we are closed, we extend invitations to employees from other establishments for special events. We are all united in our mission to elevate the Tuscaloosa food scene and create something truly extraordinary."
