Former Northport Resident Charged With Possession Of Child Pornography

A Northport man has been charged with eight counts of possession of obscene material depicting child sexual abuse.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The West Alabama Human Trafficking Task Force has charged a former Northport resident with eight counts of possession of obscene material depicting child sexual abuse.

The Task Force confirmed to Patch that Ralph Allan White, 62, was taken into custody in Jasper on Friday, Feb. 17, following an investigation that began in March 2021.

When the investigation first began, White's address was in the 17000 block of Highway 43 N in Northport.

Captain Phil Simpson, commander of the Task Force, said the capture of White was made with the assistance of the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office and the Joint Electronic Crimes Task Force.

White remains in the Tuscaloosa County Jail, with his bond set at $120,000.
