Northport Woman Accused Of Shooting Ex-Husband During Argument
A Northport woman has been charged with attempted murder after allegedly shooting her ex-husband early Saturday morning.

NORTHPORT, AL — A Northport woman has been charged with attempted murder after allegedly shooting her ex-husband early Saturday morning in a Northport neighborhood.

Captain Jack Kennedy, commander of the multi-agency unit, told local media Monday morning that officers with the Northport Police Department responded to the initial shooting call at 2 a.m. in the 2900 block of Meadowlake Drive.

Kennedy said a man was found with has suffered a gunshot wound and was transported to an area hospital. He is expected to survive his injuries.
He went on to say that 61-year-old Jerri Denise Pate was been charged with one count of attempted murder.

"It was found that the victim and suspect had previously been married and had spent the evening at a local bar," Kennedy said. "Upon returning to the residence, an argument ensued during which Pate shot the victim."
Pate remains in the Tuscaloosa County Jail awaiting a judge to set her bond.
