After the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit was called out to assume the investigation, police was found that one of the victims had allegedly been involved in a disagreement with another employee, Zachory Broom, that resulted in both of them getting into a physical altercation in the parking area after getting off work.
"After the physical altercation was over, the victim, as well another person, got into the victim’s vehicle and were exiting the area," Kennedy said. "Broom had retreated to his vehicle in a separate parking area, but then drove back and located the victims in their vehicle. Broom then fired multiple times striking the victim’s vehicle before fleeing the scene."
Kennedy said later Wednesday evening, Broom was located by investigators at a residence in Jefferson County.
Broom was charged with two counts of attempted murder and one count of discharging a firearm into and occupied vehicle, with a combined bond of $95,000. He remains in the Tuscaloosa County Jail.
