Parole Denied For Cottondale Man Imprisoned For Attempted Murder
The Alabama Board of Pardons and Paroles on Wednesday denied parole for a Tuscaloosa County man serving sentenced for attempted murder.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Alabama Board of Pardons and Paroles on Wednesday denied parole for a Tuscaloosa County man serving a 35-year prison sentence for shooting his wife in 2008.

Danny Lynn Brewer was sentenced in February 2011 after being found guilty of attempted murder.

Tuscaloosa County Metro Homicide Unit investigators say he shot his wife at their Boyd Lake Road home in Cottondale on June 29, 2008. Homicide investigators pointed out that Brewer and his wife were married but separated at the time of the shooting.
Brewer also shot himself after shooting his wife, but both survived their injuries.

He is currently incarcerated at the Elba Community Work Center and he will be up for parole consideration again in August 2028.
As of the publication of this story, Alabama Department of Corrections records show his minimum release date as July 7, 2043.
