Pedestrian Struck And Killed In Northport Tuesday Evening

Here's the latest after a woman was struck by a vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene on Lurleen B. Wallace Boulevard Tuesday.

NORTHPORT, AL — The Northport Police Department says a female pedestrian was struck and killed Tuesday evening on Lurleen B. Wallace Boulevard.

Assistant Police Chief Keith Carpenter told Patch the initial call came in at 5:30 p.m. in the 2400 block of Lurleen B. Wallace Boulevard after a vehicle traveling southbound struck a woman who was reportedly on foot.

Carpenter said the woman was pronounced dead at the scene and there would not be any other details released Tuesday.

He went on to say the woman killed would likely be publicly identified on Wednesday.
