Woman Struck By Vehicle On New Watermelon Road Monday Night
A woman is in serious condition and no charges are expected after the driver of a Honda CRV accidentally struck a pedestrian.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Tuscaloosa Police Department says a woman was struck by a vehicle Monday night while walking in the area of Jalapeño’s on New Watermelon Road.

TPD confirmed to local media that the driver of a Honda CRV first reported the incident by calling 911 at 7:50 p.m. The driver had been traveling west on New Watermelon Road when she suddenly saw the woman in the roadway and was unable to stop the vehicle before hitting her.

The victim, who is in her 20s, was unresponsive when paramedics arrived and transported to UAB
Hospital in Birmingham for treatment of serious injuries.
TPD said members of its Accident Reconstruction Unit are investigating the incident, which appears to be an accident with no charges expected against the driver.
