NPD declined to provide the exact location of the traffic stop, saying only that it was within the Northport city limits and Golding was arrested without incident.
He was booked into the Tuscaloosa County Jail following the arrest, with jail records showing his bond to be set at $500. He was released some time Thursday afternoon.
The Hammond, Louisiana native has been Alabama's full-time defensive coordinator since 2018 and was on the staff in 2020 when the Crimson Tide won the College Football Playoff championship.
Golding's status with the program remains unclear, as neither Saban nor the athletic department have released statements following the news.
