'Road Rage' Believed To Be Motive Behind Interstate Shooting Tuesday
Randarius Bevelle, 24, has been charged with shooting into an occupied vehicle and first degree assault.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — An arrest has been announced after a man was shot Tuesday evening during a what is believed to have been a road rage incident while he was driving on Interstate 59 near the Mercedes-Benz U.S. International plant in Vance.

Captain Jack Kennedy, commander of the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, says Randarius Bevelle, 24, was charged with shooting into an occupied vehicle and first degree assault.

Kennedy at approximately 5:54 p.m., the Tuscaloosa Police Department and Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office responded to the area of the 86 mile marker on Interstate 59 on a shooting.
Kennedy said the 30 year old victim reported that another vehicle traveling on the interstate had pulled alongside him and fired into his vehicle, striking him one time. His injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.

"After interviewing the victim and witnesses, a suspect vehicle was developed," Kennedy said. "Investigators located the vehicle and the suspect late last night. The suspect was interviewed and the firearm used was recovered. The motive for the shooting appears to an encounter between the vehicles while driving, what is commonly known as 'road rage.'”
Bevelle was booked in to the Tuscaloosa County Jail, where his bond was set at $60,000.
