Search Continues For Missing Boater In Sumter County
Search efforts are expected to resume Monday for a Washington County man who went missing after falling overboard from a boat.

SUMTER COUNTY, AL— Search efforts are expected to resume Monday for a Washington County man who went missing after falling overboard from a duck boat on the Tombigbee River early Sunday morning.

The Alabama Law Enforement Agency (ALEA) says Damond E. Driggers, 48, of Millry, was operating a 17-foot aluminum Excel duck boat at approximately midnight Sunday when he went overboard and fell into the water.

Officials said Driggers did not resurface and remains missing on the Tombigbee River near Gainesville in Sumter County.
ALEA also said Driggers was not wearing a personal flotation device and was not using an emergency engine cutoff switch, commonly known as a kill switch, at the time of the incident.

ALEA suspended the search Sunday and said efforts would resume Monday.
