Search Continues For Missing UA Student After Phone Found At Riverwalk

University of Alabama Police and other area agencies are searching for a UA student last seen early Sunday morning.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Police continue to ask for the public's help locating a University of Alabama student who has been missing since early Sunday morning.

According to the University of Alabama Police Department, Garrett Walker was reportedly at The Grey Lady in downtown Tuscaloosa at 1:15 a.m. Sunday. The university then said Walker was last seen around 4:20 a.m. — 4:40 a.m. near 17th Avenue and Queen City Avenue.

UA also said his phone was found at the Tuscaloosa Riverwalk Sunday afternoon.

His mother then took to social media Sunday to ask for help tracking down her son, who she said was last seen wearing a checkered flannel over shirt, blue jeans and a gray Alabama golf shirt.

Authorities also said Monday morning that the search is now focusing on the area of the Black Warrior River where Walker's phone was recovered. Additionally, police also reportedly found a clothing item belonging to Walker, which prompted the expanded search at the Tuscaloosa Riverwalk.
