"They arrived to find a male that had been shot several times," Kennedy said. "The male was transported to medical and is currently in critical condition. The shooter was on scene and reported that she lives with and had been in a relationship with the male for several years."
Kennedy then said the woman reported that there was a history of domestic violence in the relationship, testimony that was corroborated in past police reports.

"Last night, the female retreated to an inoperable vehicle to get away from the male during an argument," Kennedy said. "While locked in the vehicle, she called 911 and reported that the male was beating on the windows of the vehicle attempting to break them to get to her. "
Kennedy said once on scene, the female told investigators she shot in self-defense.
"This case is still currently under investigation, and as issues of self defense are present, no arrest has been made at this time, nor will any identifying information on either party be released," Kennedy said.
He said that the case in its entirety will be presented to a grand jury for the determination of charges, if any.
