Shelton State Athletes Earn NJCAA All-Academic Honors

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Student athletes at Shelton State Community College were recently acknowledged by The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) for their academic achievements during the 2020-21 academic year.

Here's how each team was represented on the three different All-Academic teams.

NJCAA All-Academic First Team

NJCAA All-Academic Second Team

• Davis Allen (Baseball)
• Emily Boin (Softball)
• Kolby Bragwell (Baseball)
• Kyle Chastine (Baseball)
• Hannah Collinsworth (Softball)
• Griffin Eldridge (Baseball)
• Katelyn Herring (Softball)
• Madalynn Langham (Softball)
• Cloey Lovelady (Softball)

• Alexis Taylor (Softball)

NJCAA All-Academic Third Team

• Walt Bailey (Baseball)

• Sam Harris (Baseball)

• Garrett Mangione (Baseball)

*Criteria:
NJCAA All-Academic First Team: 4.00 GPA
NJCAA All-Academic Second Team: 3.80-3.99 GPA
NJCAA All-Academic Third Team: 3.60-3.79 GPA

Along with student honors, Shelton State also said its baseball, women’s basketball, and softball teams were named as 2020-21 NJCAA All-Academic Teams. Baseball earned this recognition with an overall team GPA average of 3.10, women’s basketball with an overall team GPA average of 3.34, and softball with an overall team GPA average of 3.50.
