Tide Rolls Over Texas A&M-CC In Opening Round Of NCAA Tournament
No. 1 seed Alabama will now take on Maryland Saturday in the second round of the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — No. 1 seed Alabama men's basketball got hot early from beyond three-point range and cruised to a 96-75 blowout win over Texas A&M - Corpus Christi Thursday in the first round of the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament at Legacy Arena in Birmingham.

Alabama saw eight different players hit three-pointers in the win and recorded the second-most threes made for an Alabama team in an NCAA Tournament game.

Reigning SEC Player of the Year Brandon Miller posted a rare scoreless performance in the win, going 0-for-5 from the floor, while Mark Sears led the starters in scoring with 15 points. Once Alabama got up by a wide margin, coach Nate Oats opted to sit Miller for the rest of the game and played his bench for much of the second half.
Nick Pringle came off the bench to record the team's only double-double, notching 19 points and 15 rebounds to lead the team in both categories for the game.

Three other players — Jahvon Quinerly, Noah Clowney and Nimari Burnett — each broke double-figures on the score sheet.
Despite leaving the game early with an unspecified injury, Charles Bediako still logged an impressive performance, grabbing four rebounds and notching 9 points. The Tide big man also posted 3 blocks in the win.
The Crimson Tide will now face Maryland Saturday in the second round of the tournament in Birmingham. Tipoff time has not been announced as of the publication of this story.
