Tuscaloosa Tinsel Trail Grand Opening Postponed Due To Inclement Weather

Organizers have postponed the big grand opening until the following Monday due to the potential for inclement weather.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Organizers for the Tuscaloosa Tinsel Trail on Thursday announced that the upcoming grand opening in Government Plaza has been postponed due to inclement weather in the forecast on Monday, Nov. 20.

Instead, the grand opening will be held on Monday, Nov. 27, from 5:30-7 p.m.

The free event will feature holiday music, refreshments, Santa and decorated trees from a long list of sponsors.

“Tuscaloosa’s One Place, a Family Resource Center remains committed to delivering a festive and memorable experience for our community, and we believe that rescheduling is the best decision given the projections of inclement weather,” Tuscaloosa's One Place Director of Communications Ashley Cornelius said. “We are working diligently to ensure that the rescheduled Grand Opening exceeds expectations.”

As Patch has reported in years past, the Tinsel Trail is a display of over 220 live trees sponsored and decorated by businesses, organizations, and individuals.

The annual event serves as a primary fundraiser for Tuscaloosa's One Place.
