TPD Locates Family Of Two Small Children Found At The Links

Tuscaloosa Police have located the family of two small children found wandering outside late Friday night at The Links.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Tuscaloosa Police Department has located the family of two small children found walking by themselves near the gate at The Links off of Highway 69 South just before 10:30 p.m. Friday night.

In an update posted to social media, TPD thanked those in the community for providing information on the children — ages two and three — and said the Alabama Department of Human Resources will conduct a follow-up investigation.

The children informed TPD investigators that their mother or caregiver was sleeping on the couch when they decided to leave their home. They were then spotted by a couple returning to their apartment at The Links, who then contacted police.

As of its latest update, TPD says there does not appear to be any criminal negligence.
