"Being a coach is a reward in itself, and it demands an abundance of time and love," Wright said. "Players are the reason we go into coaching. Watching kids grow, get better, and gain confidence is probably the best part."
Wright was quick to tell Tuscaloosa Patch that the win, and all of those that came before it, were the result of the commitment and heart of his players and coaches. Never mind that Wright coached up the Knights and led them to a victory Friday night after falling behind 15-0 in the first half.

Wright was a highly touted hire for Tuscaloosa Academy two seasons ago and led the school's move to the ranks of the Alabama High School Athletic Association during the last academic year.
Indeed, Wright — the son of legendary high school football coach Lynn Wright — made a name for himself at the Alabama Independent School Association (AISA) level after being hired as the head coach at Bessemer Academy in 2008.
He would go on to win nine regional championships and logged 10 appearances in the Alabama AISA state championship game — winning four times.
“Coach Wright’s remarkable achievement not only inspires our athletes but also sets a high standard of excellence that we are committed to maintaining at TA," Tuscaloosa Academy Athletic Director Byron Abston said. "As we look to the future, Coach Wright’s leadership will shape our student-athletes to thrive both on and off the field.”
Wright and the Tuscaloosa Academy Knights (2-1) will return to gridiron action on Friday, Sept. 15, for a road match in Eutaw against 2A Region 5 opponent Greene County.
