Tuscaloosa City Schools Offering Flu Shots To Students

Virtual learning students will also have the opportunity to receive immunizations for the flu, which is made possible by Health Heroes.

TUSCALOOSA, AL. — Tuscaloosa City Schools (TCS) has announced it will offer flu shots on Nov. 4 to all students, both virtual and in-person.

The immunizations will begin at 8 a.m. and parents are asked to return the parental consent form by Nov. 1. The initiative is made possible through Health Heroes — a community immunizer that has reportedly provided more than half a million vaccinations in schools across the country since 2011.

TCS virtual students will also have the opportunity to receive immunizations, with parents asked to contact their child's school nurse to pick up a consent form prior to arriving at the immunization location of their choice.

Parents or guardians of students enrolled in virtual learning are asked to bring their child and signed consent form to the location of their choice by 8 a.m. on Nov. 4.
