Tuscaloosa Collects 1,183 School Supplies To Cover Parking Tickets
The City of Tuscaloosa on Wednesday announced that it has collected 1,183 school supplies during the month of August.

As Patch previously reported, the city offered to waive $18 overtime parking tickets with a donation of school supplies valued at $10.

The city also forgave two $18 parking tickets with donations of school supplies valued at $20 or more.
As of Aug. 31, a total of 250 parking tickets were canceled out.

The school supplies will now be donated to the Tuscaloosa City Board of Education and distributed to students in need.
