Tuscaloosa County Schools Receive $395K In Federal Grant Money
The Tuscaloosa County School System is set to receive $395,260 in funding to promote a safe and healthy school system.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Tuscaloosa County School System (TCSS) and other west Alabama public school systems will soon benefit from hundreds of thousands of federal grant dollars to promote safe and healthy schools.

The Alabama State Department of Education says the grant funding is made possible by the Stronger Connection Grant program of the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act (BSCA).

TCSS is set to receive $395,260 in funding, while the Pickens County School System will receive $400,000. What's more, $294,330 has been allocated to Sumter County schools.
All told, the federal government will distribute $14,723,204.32 to 38 districts across Alabama for use in funding projects that support safe and healthy schools.

This will aim to strengthen the school systems' Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), while also fostering community and family partnerships.
