That's why the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office on Monday showed off its new K9 memorial at its training facility in Samantha. The new installation honors the 43 past and present K9 partners that have served the county.

The memorial features detailed wood-carvings as its centerpiece, depicting three breeds of dogs traditionally used in law enforcement operations: A German Shepherd, a bloodhound and a Labrador retriever.
