The Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office is warning the public of the latest phone scam involving the caller impersonating a TCSO employee.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office is warning the public of the latest phone scam involving the caller impersonating an individual employed by the agency.

TSCO says it has received reports of callers identifying themselves as Sgt. Mike Kowzan, by the names of other deputies employed by the sheriff's office.

TCSO reiterated that its employees will never contact private residents and ask for funds to pay for outstanding warrants or missed court dates.

Investigators recommend hanging up if you receive a call that fits this description or if you feel it is a scam caller.
