Tuscaloosa Man Charged For Weekend Shooting On 64th Avenue
Investigators with the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit have arrested a man for a shooting on Saturday in Tuscaloosa.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Investigators with the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit have arrested a man with a criminal history of violence offenses in connection with a shooting on Saturday.

Captain Jack Kennedy, commander of the multiagency unit, told local media that on April 2 at approximately 5:10 p.m., officers with the Tuscaloosa Police Department responded to the 3800 block of 64th Avenue on a shooting call.

Once on scene, investigators learned that Nelson Radbourne Bell Jr., 28, had shot a firearm multiple times at two people with whom he had been arguing with during the day.
"Neither victim was injured, but their residence was struck multiple times," Kennedy said, before explaining the Bell was charged with two counts of attempted murder, discharging into an occupied dwelling, and being a felon in possession of a firearm. "It was found that Bell had an extensive criminal history, and was on parole for the attempted murder of an Alabama State Trooper from 2014. "

Bell is currently in the Tuscaloosa County Jail awaiting his bond to be set.
