Tuscaloosa, Nucor To Host Hazardous Waste Disposal Day In June
Here's how you can safely dispose of your household waste and other products for free this summer!

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The City of Tuscaloosa, along with Nucor Steel, will host the 2022 Household Hazardous Waste Disposal Day on Saturday, June 4 from 8 a.m. until noon at its Public Safety Logistics building located at 3311 Reese Phifer Avenue.

The city says items dropped off will either be neutralized and recycled into new products or safely and properly disposed, before mentioning examples such as: household cleaners, automotive fluids, paint/paint thinner, herbicides, pool chemicals, batteries, propane tanks, antifreeze, pesticides, oil or gasoline, light bulbs, and lawn chemicals/fertilizers.

What's more, the city also said tires, medical waste, electronics, and non-residential or out-of-county wastes will not be accepted, as the event is only open to residents of Tuscaloosa County. Commercial businesses and non-profit organizations are not included.
The event will feature a contactless drive-thru, with participants asked to stay in their vehicle while city staff members unload their items.
