Tuscaloosa Police Arrest Two For Stealing Catalytic Converters
Tuscaloosa Police on Thursday announced a pair of arrests as part of an ongoing investigation into stolen catalytic converters.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Tuscaloosa Police Department on Thursday announced a pair of arrests as part of an ongoing investigation into the theft and resale of catalytic converters.

TPD said in a press release that Wesley Austyn Wyatt, 31, and Paul Harvey Fretwell, 51, were both arrested Wednesday after investigators determined they were responsible stealing catalytic converters off vehicles at a business in the 1600 block of 25th Avenue over the last month.

Wyatt was charged with four counts of unlawfully breaking and entering a vehicle and was booked into the Tuscaloosa County Jail with bond set at $60,000.
Fretwell was charged with two counts of breaking and entering a vehicle and saw his bond set at $20,000.

Due to the arrests being part of an ongoing investigation, TPD said further charges against both men are expected.
