VCU Captain Marty Sellers said officers responded around 7 p.m. on Friday to the 3300 block of Greensboro Avenue on reports of a shooting.

He said when officers arrived, they located a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg.
The victim told officers that a man exited a vehicle and began firing at him before fleeing the scene.

Investigators with the Violent Crimes Unit responded and have taken over the investigation.
No arrests or suspects have been announced at this time.
