A driver for Tuscaloosa-based Delta Oil Services says the company deliberately dumped countless thousands of gallons of fuel and solvent mixture over at least two years at Burgess Truck & Equipment Repair in Northport, which has drawn the attention of the federal Environmental Protection Agency and made the focus of a criminal investigation. 2. One person is dead following a Tuesday night shooting at the intersection of Foster's Ferry Road and 21st Street. The victim has yet to be identified by the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit and the investigation remains ongoing. (More on Patch)

3. The Tuscaloosa County Commission, on the recommendation of District 4's Reginald Murray, appointed Avery Pruitt to the Coker Water Board at Wednesday's regular meeting.

- Zocimo Hernandez, 25, was sentenced this week to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to murder in the 2019 shooting death Hernan Diaz Diego, whose body was left in the middle of a Pickens County road.
